Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Greetings to all our family in Christ and supporters. We pray and hope that all are doing well and blessed. We are doing great. We have had a wonderful month. Thank God that things have calmed down and we have been able to have several activities.
We had our first pizza day in the village of Ubim. We were there morning and afternoon. We enjoyed the day and so did the students. We are going to have a pizza day in the Indian village there in Ubim also. We are contacting other school in communities near us to have pizza day. We want to thank all those who have donated to this project.
We also had baptism day at our church, Pedras Vivas. Since everyone lives far away here, when we have baptism, we make it a day of fellowship. Last month we asked prayer for a family that came to live here at our place. Well, God is working!!!! Thanks for your prayers! The father and the 3 sons accepted Christ and were baptized. Also, three from Ubim were baptized. Cleomar, the teen who lives with us, was also baptized, and Gabriel, the other teen that is always at our home. Thank God for these 10 that were baptized. Pray for them!
Pray for us as we want to reach out into the communities, that God will open the doors. Also, that God will touch the lives of the members to help more and more in these projects.
Love in Christ,
Odali and Kathy

First Festival Since Pandemic & New Visitors

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We thank God for each one of you for your prayers and support. Missions is a joint effort of those going and those sending. Praise the Lord that He has called us to be used by Him.
We had our first festival since the pandemic. It was wonderful. We had many visitors. That was the main purpose of the event: bring new people to visit our church. Thank God! If things continue calm, we will have another one in a couple of months.
We have had to change some of our plans, but the Lord is helping us put new plans together. We had planned the pizza day in some schools but they all went on break. They will start back next week, so we will be scheduling the new dates for pizza day. We thank all those who have given for this. We will be contacting an Indian tribe to do pizza there also.
The services in the homes have been a blessing. In the home where we go on Friday, it has been wonderful. Their son has mental spiritual problems. They told us last week that he has changed a lot since we started the services in their home. Pray that God will open his mind to hearing God’s word. His name is Nelson.
A family has moved here in the other house on our land. They have four children. They are precious kids. They are always asking Kathy and I if they can help do something. They say, “If you need help just call us”. The parents have problems with drugs. Pray for them. They are going to church with us. Pray that God will strengthen them and have victory over their problem, and that if they are not saved, that they will accept the Lord as their Savior.
The other teen we help is doing well. Last Sunday he spoke in Sunday school the plan of salvation. He was nervous but did well. His name is Cleomar. He will be baptized next week.
Pray for us as we want to reach out into the communities. There are so many in the area. Pray that God will open doors for us to have services and that we can preach the gospel in as many places as He opens.
God bless each of you!

Wonderful Trip to Homeland

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are thankful for each one of you who are part of this ministry! All of you who give and lift us up in prayer—God bless each of you.
We had a wonderful trip to my homeland. It was great seeing family and so many of them who have gotten saved. I was the first one in my family who got saved. Thanks to Bro. Bobby Creiglow who God sent up the river to preach the gospel.
It’s great to be back home and see that things went well while we were gone. We are working on using the adults who are being trained for leadership. We want to have services in more communities. So, as we have more leaders, we can reach more people.
This next month we will be having our first festival since the pandemic. Everyone is getting excited about it. Also this month we will be having the first pizza night at the village of Ubim, where we go every Monday.
Also this year we are planning a trip to a tribe close to where I was born. This will be a wonderful experience. One of the head men in the tribe is a Baptist preacher.
Our services in the homes are doing really wonderful. Each Wednesday we are able to go into different homes. Pray with us that God will open more homes so we can preach salvation to more and more people.
Special thanks to all of you who support Baptist Faith Missions.

Remembering Missionaries of BFM

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Thanks to our Lord for precious moments in our lives. This month is a special month as we remember the missionaries of BFM who have served the Lord for many years.
Kathy and I had planned a trip to my home state, Cruzeiro do Sul, for over a year. With all the pandemic problems we had to change it. But finally, this month we were able to make the trip. The day we arrived we got a message that Brother John Hatcher had gone to be with the Lord.
Many places we have been we have met people that were led to the Lord by Bro. John Hatcher and also Bro. Bobby Creiglow. What a special moment! These men of God were used to touch many lives and also left an example of serving through good times or hard times.
May God bless each person and the churches that have given to this mission and for uplifting all of us in prayer.
Our works in our ministry are doing well. While we are traveling, we have left those from our church that are doing leadership training caring for the work. Pray that this will encourage our members to want to do more.
We had a special evening with Mike and Beverly Creiglow. My Christian life and ministry started with them. I’m thankful for their influence in my life. May God continue to bless them and their ministry.
Thank God for each of you supporters of BFM. God bless each of you.

Ladies from Church Taking the Gospel to Villages

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Pray and hope that all are doing well. We are doing great. This year has been unusually rainy. The virus problem has stopped, and we have been able to reach out to more communities. The work in the village of Ubim is growing more and more. I still have the work with the children during the afternoon and then at night, Odali is doing a service for adults. This has really been a blessing.
We are working more and more with the church members to get involved in the different ministries. I try more and more to involve the ladies in different ministries and try to help them find the area they can help in. More and more are starting to get involved.
Our plan is that as more members get involved, we can go to more places to have services in the villages. Thank God, more ladies in the church are getting involved. The greatest difficulty here is that most of the women do not drive and lots of the families do not have cars. So, this makes it harder for some. We want to make teams that can work together. Since I work with kids and teens, from time to time, I take some of the ladies and girls of the church to help me.
My request for prayer is that God open the eyes and hearts of the members of the church to see the need to take the gospel to these villages. Pray that the women see the need to get more involved and minister to the kids and young people. Most of them have never done things like this. Thank you for your love, prayers, and support!
God bless each of you ladies and your families.
Love in our Savior,
Kathy Barros

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We pray and hope that all of you dear friends are doing well! We are doing well. Thank God things are doing well and getting back to normal. We are being able to start back our services in the different communities. We are making plans to have special programs in these different communities and also have some special programs in schools. Since distance is a problem here, we want to go into the communities. One of the things that we are planning is to have a special pizza day in each of these places and different schools. If you would like to help us with this project, we would be grateful. We figure that it will cost around $400.00 for the places we plan on going.
Our Friday services in homes is doing well. In the village of Ubim, we have started night services. Kathy has been going there for 7 years and works with 50 to 60 kids under 15. Pray as we have services and reach out to the adults and families there.
At the main church, Pedras Vivas, we are doing fine and still working on training adults for different ministries. We hope and pray that they will see the need more and more to reach out to the lost people around us.
A special thing happened with one of the teenagers who stays here with us most of the week. He has helped Kathy in Ubim for several months. He wanted to continue helping there but because of being in school he couldn’t go. But he decided to ask the principal if on Monday he could leave a little earlier to go with Kathy. The principal said sure, bring a letter from your pastor saying that you’re going there to help every week. So, he took the letter. The day he went to talk to the principal it was a different person. She seemed to be giving him a hard time. After questioning him a lot he thought that she was going to say he couldn’t go. But was he surprised!!!! She said, you can go, and I also want you to play some praise songs here at the school and talk about God! He sent Kathy a message totally surprised!!!!! Praise the Lord. Pray for the teen. His name is Gabriel, and he is 15 years old.

Using a Home to Reach People

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We hope and pray that you all are doing well. We are doing well, thank God. The virus was in our area and even some people from our church got it this time. Until last month, things had been pretty calm around our area. Thank God, this week things have calmed down. We canceled the church services for a few weeks. This week we were able to have service again. We just asked each one to be careful and used the mask.
This last year we took on a missionary from here in Manaus who went to the state of Maranhão. Many of you helped brother John Hatcher and Brother George Bean who also started works there. We are happy to help a Brazilian pastor that has given his life to missions. For several years, the pastor Francisco helped in one of our mission points, the one in the community of Multirão. May God continue to guide and bless him and his family.
The training we are doing at the church is going well. We are trying to prepare more leaders for the different communities we go to—that way, we can reach more people. Pray that God will help us more and more each day with wisdom and strength.
Our home has been used to reach people for over 32 years. Paulinho, one of the first boys we got 32 years ago, was here to visit us this week. We have always had someone in our home. Right now, we have 3 boys that live with us. We also are helping 3 men that did a recovery treatment for drug from a project called “Projeto Vida” (Project Life). They work with men with drug and alcohol problems. We pray that we can help these people look to God and know how much He loves them and gave His life for them.
Kathy is in the United State for a while to care for her father. Paul had to have surgery. While she cares for him, she has some time with her brothers.
Thanks for your prayers and support. May God bless each one of you!
Love in Christ,
Odali and Kathy
